ASAP is a student-centered college access and persistence program based at Mission High School focused on getting students to and through college. We don't just work with the highest achieving students, but encourage all students to realize their full potential for college completion. Our program is working! Over the past 2 years, 3x more ASAP students have completed BA/BS degrees, and ASAP has supported 75% of Mission High alumni who have graduated from college.
We provide a variety of programs for students and their families while in high school and in college. Check out all of our programs below.
Summer Programs On College Campuses
ASAP provides students with full scholarships to attend summer programs (academic, leadership-building or sports-related residential programs on college campuses) to experience college and meet new people. Past schools include UC Berkeley, Saint Mary's, Cornell, Columbia, etc. Come use our computers , get help from volunteers for applications, and enjoy!
PRE-COLLEGE COUNSELING/College Access Mentoring
ASAP provides students with academic assistance to improve grades and develop academic potential. We also have our own Junior advisory that meets Tuesdays and Thursdays. The goal is to start early and prepare for the upcoming college process in senior year, including researching campuses, starting on personal statements and SAT prep with @KhanAcademy.
Once in college, our new college mentoring program matches college freshmen with older alumni to assist newer students with the transitioning, navigating and succeeding in college. We also offer college scholarships that foster continued connecting with ASAP throughout college.
